Tagliata del Ponale

The Outdoordays will be a unique occasion to visit one of the most spectacular and colossal forts on the entire alpine front: the Tagliata del Ponale, a complex network of tunnels, artillery positions, shelters and vantage points, dug from the rock face high above Lake Garda.

The forts are distributed on 5 different levels and connected by a series of ladders. The first and second level is connected by 200 breathtakingly steep steps. Each level offers spectacular views from vantage points and balconies onto the Alta Garda region.

Thanks to your Mountain Guide and the historian belonging to the Società Alpinisti Tridentini you will be able to relive highly suggestive historic moments on this site, presently closed to the public until the Autonomous Province of Trento completes the process of restoration and valorisation.
